Bob Saffari

Vice President of Marketing, Settop and Broadcast Products

Bob Saffari joined Magnum with the acquisition of the Consumer Products Group from LSI Corporation. He has more than 25 years of experience in semiconductors and video compression technology.

Most recently Saffari served as senior director of marketing and business development at LSI, where he led the marketing activities for H.264, MPEG2, and VC1 video codecs for the professional broadcast industry and CATV/IPTV set top box markets, and launched the industry's first SD/HD multi-format transcoder chip. Prior to LSI he was director of marketing for C-Cube, and has also worked in the fields of DSP architecture and video compression technology for companies such as Cypress Semiconductor, Fujitsu, and Philips Semiconductor. In 1996 his work on the development of special motion estimation processor for Grand Alliance HDTV encoding received an Emmy Award.

Saffari was awarded an MS degree in electrical engineering from the California State University, Northridge.
