MEDIA ADVISORY – Magnum Semiconductor Offering Demos of the Latest Digital Recording, Time-Shifting and Advanced Audio/Video Chip Technology During Hong Kong Electronics Fair

Who: Magnum Semiconductor is a provider of audio/video IC solutions including chips, software and reference designs for recording, managing and exchanging audio/video content. What: Magnum Semiconductor will be demonstrating the silicon technologies behind the next generation of DVD recording, TV time-shifting and other consumer electronics entertainment features for both portable and in-home applications during the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (HKEF). Consumer OEMs will find from Magnum a range of technologies, from the latest networked digital home entertainment through low-cost digital recording solutions that can help differentiate their products, and make their products more fun and convenient for the consumer to use.

Technology demonstrations will include:

• Sonata: Magnum’s complete hardware and software solution for recording, managing and exchanging consumer audio/video content
• Recording and time-shifting DVB-T broadcast content, including MHEG-5 and Electronic Program Guide
• Playback of DivX Ultra A/V content
• HDMI interface to large-screen TVs
• USB2 interface to storage devices for transferring and retrieving A/V content
• File transfers, and real-time streaming of A/V content from PCs to TVs through the Sonata Platform
