QE for Current Consumption is a tool for using an E2 emulator to tune currents drawn by systems. To obtain low power consumption, previous debuggers required iterative modification or evaluation of programs, since the relationship between current drawn and program operations was not readily apparent. This solution kit can reduce the time taken in operations for the tuning of current drawn through the combination of the following three features.
This product is included as a standard item in the e² studio and CS+ (CS+ for CC only) integrated development environments.
Note
Only for the RL78 Family, Included in the later versions as follows.
No need to prepare an ammeter or remodel the board. You can easily measure the current drawn by the whole system by simply connecting an E2 emulator with your system.
In the case of unusual increases of current or other such events that rarely happen, this feature stops the program in response to the detection of various specified trigger conditions. A current value and time can be specified as a trigger condition. You can identify the reason for excessive current by using this feature.
The relationship between the behavior of a program and current drawn can be visualized by setting monitoring points in the program. You can configure multiple monitoring points at desired positions in the program in a similar manner to the setting of breakpoints. This feature allows you to identify the reasons for increased current.
